Oh and I fitted the last of the 145s (it was flat) They look good, really fill the wheel arches.

Today, apart from fiddling with the Mehari and doing some undersealing I fitted the poche du chef interior.

Hope you like :)

The door cards were a bit of a rush job, but they're ok. They make the van a nice place to be. Need to do something with the seats next!

I could not find the word for it, but in the past they called it POP-ART .
Maybe you should call Hetty now Pop-art-duck ( sorry)

Drove Hetty on the open road for the first time yesterday. Had her up to a whopping 55mph  Drives really nicely though. Gave her a good clean, tightened all her nuts and bolts and greased everything up.

MoT was booked for 8am this morning at my local branch of Just MoTs. £33. Can't complain.

I paced and bit my nails solidly for 40minutes. Possibly the most stressedful wait of my life. However...

SHE PASSED

:D :D :D

3 advisories: Left hand seatbelt worn/fluffy. Right hand seat belt worn/fluffy. Slight oil drip.

Really, very chuffed.

I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back to them (wish I'd taken the D*lly there). They didn't poke around, just went about everything very professionally. Excellent service. Plus if you book 3 months in advance its £20 :o

So there we go.

Massive thanks to:
Adrian - for selling it to me, providing me with parts, telephone support.
Paul (602) - for providing door catches
Harry - for risking his liberty in transporting said catches to the uk
And especially Russ - for towing it back (destroying his partner's pug in the process), giving up his lunch brakes to answer my numpty questions, hanging around in the evenings to teach me really basic stuff that I should probably know, crawling around on the floor to weld stuff, loan of tools, finding me somewhere to keep it amongst many other things and generally being massively helpful and patient in the process. Cheers man.

Foo.

You've worked your nadgers off on it. It couldn't have gone to a better home.

How good was turning up at the post office and claiming one years free road rent?

It felt good. Very good. Now that I've taken up cycling - I'm basically just using and abusing the roads for free.
