 Re: Yet another red spesh...
I've maxed out at 83.6mph on the M5 northbound, near Micheal Wood Services. Was bl**dy scary though, so I'll doff my cap to Russ and Joolz.

Don't you find they are much smoother and feel more stable over 65? I hate wobbling along at 40 or 50, but when you settle into a 70mph+ cruise, despite the noise they seem much more capable of motorway driving.

70/75mph is fine, no problems at all. It's quite relaxing on an empty motorway

Same. 83mph on A34 on the way to Storrington in '07. Its a really steep(up and down) road, We were going about 45 up some of the inclines so my dad just kept his foot on the floor after that and surprised even himself. Shame he doesn't do it more often.

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
I'm going to take this off the road soon and do more to it. It's bugging me that it's so normal and boring, and also that I never did the work I should have done when I rebuilt it. I was in a hurry to get it going as I didn't have a car, but I've regretted things like the bonnet hinge and back panel having scabs on them since then, and there are a million other silly jobs I want to do to it. I have a load of tuning bits at my parents like shortened barrels, 9:1 pistons and waisted valves, which would at least mean it's a bit nippier than a normal 2cv. I really want to bin off the red paint too, so I think a reshell is in order plus a lot of tidying up underneath, painting and cleaning things.
As soon as my yellow car is finished, this will be off the road. Hopefully sorted for Salbris.

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
Hi Harley, how much do you reckon it would cost to ship one of them over here? I did try asking a seller once, but the price was quite high, I didn't know if he was ripping me off. I know Viking sends containers down that way occasionally, do you know anybody who ships stuff back up here, would be much cheaper that way.
A lot of the Aussi ones seem to be imported from japan, so how come there's no one importing them directly here, no demand I guess. What's wrong with us Brits that we don't demand secondhand superchargers?
Au$/ £ rate isn't great at the moment, @ 1.6$ to the £, I'm sure a few year back it was more like 3$ to the pound.
