It'll look good, I didn't realised that you'd been coveting Max's van quite so hard! Although I can't help thinking it might have been easier to sell the 'boo and buy a complete van...
Shame I'm on the wrong side of the country, or I'd have offered some help with collecting it.

It probably would have been easier Joolz, the trouble is the Bamboo is virtually worthless as a whole, there's nothing special or great about it, I think I'd be lucky to get £500 for it. If i sold it I'd never buy a decent van for the same money!

There's a big market for shit old 2cvs with scabby paint, broken chassis, low suspension and graffiti all up the sides is there?

Even if I sold it for £1500, I'd still need a chassis, engine, gearbox, all the suspension (low springs, turned arms as well) and then a new shell on top of all that, plus all the other little bits you don't consider. It makes far more sense to reshell it and repair the bits that need it.

I think you've done completely the right thing. Plus, I'm guessing you'd never have found an MOT'd, taxed and running AK350 for what you've paid for the shell.

However, by your own admission, you have no sense

I sold my Ami Super and kept the AK350... What's that say about me?

This is the relevant bit, the ex Bamboo passes, Git doesn't

Kit Conversions
This is where a kit of new parts is added to an existing vehicle or old parts are added to a kit comprising a manufactured body, chassis or monocoque bodyshell. The general appearance of the vehicle will change and result in a revised description on the registration certificate.

A vehicle will retain its donor registration mark if either the original unmodified chassis or unaltered monocoque bodyshell and two other major components are used. If a new monocoque bodyshell or chassis from a specialist kit manufacturer is used (or an altered chassis or bodyshell from an existing vehicle) together with two major components from a donor vehicle, an age related mark will be assigned. The mark will be based on the age of the donor vehicle. An IVA, ESVA, SVA or MSVA test will be required to register the vehicle.

Where there are insufficient parts from a donor vehicle or in cases where the original registration mark is unknown, an IVA, ESVA, SVA or MSVA certificate will be required to register the vehicle and a 'Q' prefix registration number will be allocated.
