Bet you didn't know that there are seven ( not 50 ) different shades of Massey Fergusson grey that have evolved over the years? Cheers Sean, as soon as the body and panels are into paint, I'll be putting the body into storage whilst I build up the chassis. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated for sure! I still need to pick up a few suspension bits, but I have almost everything to finish.

Re: My new 2CV, running restoration. In theory..
So yesterday I flipped the shell the conventional way up, and temporarily bolted it to the chassis so I could check alignment of the front panels before they go into paint. Started with the lamp bar Followed by the wings, bonnet, and "eyes". I'm happy enough with the fit of the front end, the lamp bar was quite badly bent, so a bit of levering was required, and the edges of the A panels needed a tickle with a hammer to get the wings to butt up tight. Both wings are original Citroen which helps. I also threw on the doors and rear wings to check fitment, all good there. Then the chassis went back into storage and I masked up for primer to the top of the body tub. And primed the body, headlamp bowls, (massive thanks to the Thief of Rythm for these) seatbelt mount brackets, pedal box THINGY and wing valances Until next time..

P.S. Does anybody know what this protruding lower section of the lamp bar is for, and do I need it. I think it's a support for the front bumper but can't remember. I'm fitting 50's bumpers if it makes any difference. Thanks..

I think it sits under the bumper, you can get rid of it and nothing bad will happen.

Re: My new 2CV, running restoration. In theory..
pbp, don't they provide the support points for the front end of the bonnet? I know when I've been working with cars which have no front bumper, I've fitted a couple of rubber buffers ( aka walking stick tips ) onto those brackets, otherwise the bonnet ends up almost sitting on the light bar. If you haven't got the little rubber buffers fitted to the front outer edges of the bonnet, there can be contact with the wings as well, which wouldn't do your new paintwork much good. ken ( Maybe check on pic #3 above?)
