It shouldn't be soldered, there are 2 spade connectors there normally. Someone has been "creative".

There's been a lot of that :lol:

Cheers for the info - guessed that wasn't right. A future project might be replacing the speedo and fuel guage, there's a spare in the shed.

At the moment though it doesn't fit into the 'what's needed for MoT' mantra. It'll come under the 'while girlfriends at uni' project list :)

sam i had 2 dash's so i could simply swap, i love the dash ive got, and the painted speedo surround ;)
if you want to do it, then do it, take your time, and while your there fix the soldered ends and anything else, do it once do it properly

I have a problem with my speedos...

The replacement reads in MPH. Will my length of cable fit?

On the plus side the fuel tank gauge actually has proper connections.

Also, 'the zit' on the dash - what's it do. There's a bulb in there but it never comes on :?

When's it supposed to come on?

Ill change the bulb and see if that makes a difference.

And why is it so... HUGE?

Vaaaaguely.... so it comes on if the battery's not charging? Or low?
