Post Re: Joolz's Red One
Thanks for the Info Joolz.

Yes I agree that the Poly Urethane would be to hard. I can't get the same transit mount here in Oz easily so I ordered some off Ebay, cheap! Is this the ones you used?

Is it not a concern that the gearbox could slide forward or backward out of your mounts? Only if the front mounts failed I suspect.

If you have the time to send me the width of the bush, inner shaft, that would be helpful to design my mounts. Here is my idea, maybe overkill, I will reduce it a bit I think...

The white spacers on the back are because the LNa end plate is not flat, the curved is the original mounting support.

Yep, those are the ones, cheap as in the UK but your postage bumps it up a little.

No I'm not too concerned about them moving, if I see any sign of it, a blob of weld will sort them.

I don't think your bracket looks overly heavy if you're making it from 4 or 5mm plate, and it will allow plenty of rotational movement, assuming you're keeping the original front mounts. I'll get you all the dimensions later today.

I couldn't find my other set of bushes so did my best to measure the ones on the car, was a bit awkward so I may be a mm out. Should be close enough to finish the design, but maybe don't cut anything yet.
Your CAD is all very pretty, but paper and a biro is more how I roll.

I did some fuel consumption calculations for the first time with the 5-sp gearbox. When driven sensibly over a long journey it'll do 45mpg. I can't remember now what it used to do with the old box, but I'm sure this is an improvement.
