 Re: LGY 275P Rises Again!
just line up the marks, count the teeth remembering they are different amount of teeth for the 1299cc and 1220cc engines. My timing appears to be out a little but starts easily, ticks over fine and is still fast. Is the carb location to the manifold ok? no air leaks there? I tested mine on various cars by putting fuel into a spray bottle (i was having an unsafe day) and spraying around the area. sure there are safer ways to test thing like that!

 Re: LGY 275P Rises Again!
Hi Tim
Was going to pm u about ya carb, but seeing as u posted on here!!
As u look at ya carb from the front, just under the "electrical thingy" I think it's the vacuum secondary is there a small rubber pipe connected to it?? If so where does it end??
Manifold seems though having a few problems with the pipe that goes to top of dizzy cap, that keeps coming off, can it make much difference?? And the point above can that make a huge amount, because it really is running crap!!
Really thinking of giving up with this engine!! Getting another one next week, brought blind so know not about it, but will strip down and if any good it's getting chucked in Failing that do ya know of any GS/GSA engine for sale??

 Re: LGY 275P Rises Again!
Ok, nowt much happened over the winter months, just been sourcing a few things instead, so hopefully in the spring months I will get on and do some more, Have had a fiddle with the ignition, swapped the key for a switch and push button blingy thing, think it should work!! Will of course switch it back at mot time to conform to the rules..... And thanks to Joolz and his friend/mate I've got hold of some nice looking spacers should now give enough clearance on everything that was rubbing and have also managed to get some extra long bolts which will hopefully fit when I get round to fitting them... Thought I would post a few picture, as I know everyone likes a nice piccie or two...

 Re: LGY 275P Rises Again!
In fact, I was looking at photos of this just the other day-it really was a cracking great motor-one of the few that I wish I'd never got rid of (along with the Ami 8 Break of course) as I had some epic times with it.
I'll get the photos on the scanner sometime soon Matt just to shame you in to getting your finger out!!!
If all else fails, I'll swap it for a load of empty beer cans, a dead christmas tree, some cat shit (see Facebook if you're my friend on there), a few bits of Land Rover Discovery (nowt useful), an "H" van "bonnet", a broken JVC CD/radio and a Peugeot 306 temporary spare wheel!
Oh, I'll chuck in a half full propane bottle too.

Yeah I know Come on, I have done a fair bit to it since I've had it... It's almost unrecognisable from a few years ago, and had been sitting outside going rusty for a fair few years till I got it... But saying that yes 2013 will see this car on the road and hopefully a big ish event attended, and yes please hold me to that....
