 Re: '88 red spesh
I finally received the V5 from Swansea on Thursday so went online and taxed Seth. Typical really, all this glorious weather the last few days and the 2CV has been parked on the drive without road rent.

 Re: '88 red spesh
Seth is now back to what he's best at in the role of daily driver.
I've still not replaced the knackered window so I'm just wedging it closed each day with a piece of cardboard.
MOT Saturday.

 Re: '88 red spesh
Loved the last few days of driving around in a 2CV again in the sun with the roof off-good times. Hope the MOT man doesn't take it all away from me this morning with a fail...... Actually, I've heard he went out on the lash last night and doesn't really feel like doing an MOT anyway! Had a great moment yeaterday while waiting in traffic in Seth. Two kids were walking along and one of them said "Look, it's a Herbie car" to which the other one replied "No, that's not a VW, that's a Citroen 2CV". I was absolutely gobsmacked that this kid knew what it was, they couldn't be any older than about 11 or 12, maybe there's a new generation of 2CVers just waiting for their chance to get out there?

 Re: '88 red spesh
Yay, that's another 12 months test on Seth. I think he's earned himself a damn good service and fettle now. Once I've got a fresh ticket on the racer/a replacement car for Rachaels C5, I'll get the heads off and stop him gassing me whenever I use him, drop the front down a bit to stop the "axle tramp" effect, a new pair of rear shocks, a bit of welding on the screen surround and a nice shiny new windscreen. Good times.

Oh! A little tear just came out. But on the other hand... Good work Spanners! I'm glad he's found someone to treat him right!

 Re: '88 red spesh
A productive day in the sun today to pay Seth back for being a good boy and passing the MOT. I've done some pretty out of character stuff today including cleaning and greasing of kingpins and driveshafts-normally I'd prefer to fit new kingpins each year and only grease them the once as I HATE grease! I've also lowered the front to the correct height although I need to raise the rear a tad. I've also adjusted the handbrake as that was borderline on the brake test and I've fitted a back seat and carpet! Piccies............. Mouldy seat Clean(er) seat Filthy roof Clean(er again) roof Luxury interior

Quick Seth update-his fuel gauge burst back into life this morning! Good times Other than that, he's just been running faultlessly as my everyday motor. Lovin' it.

 Re: '88 red spesh "Seth"
The working fuel gauge was obviously just a glitch, we're back to normal now with a non-operational fuel gauge. Oh well, thought it was too good to be true.
