 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
can't believe it... Your putting together a 2cv and are making a topic of it (including pics)... almost magic...
looks prommising.... It is almost unique to make a standard 2cv...
Keep up the good work... I like it..

This car is not standard, in fact it's not really one car, the registration, speedo, headlights and one wing are original as is some of the body, the rest is all made of other 2cvs, it's a right mash up!
I'm sorry about the gash photos, I'll take better ones as I go.

 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Oh, thanks James. I've found some old ones for the moment.
I repainted the chassis as it looked wank. Also, rear axle is stripped and ready to be painted tomorrow, ill do the rear arms tomorrow too. Half the arm bearings are fucked, turns out doing no maintenance and leaving bits of it laying in the rain doesn't do it any good. Oh well.

I'm sorry about the gash photos, I'll take better ones as I go. Typical standard for me.... and foto's are great... channeling/tuning/hot rodding is not standard... in my eyes..

If you bring her to a WM in her car that she built youv'e probably set her up for life. Keeks has a wonderfully border free view of the world now - when the teacher asked the class what they wanted to do her reply was "Oh Im going to live in Paris in one of those funny roof rooms, during the day ill write books and ill dance the night away in The Moulin Rouge - ive seen it you know when we went there in a 2cv" priceless

I read this to my missus. She nodded enthusiastically and smiled. She's a carpenter.

 Re: 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
Today I took the pinion out of the rack along with sll the other innards, basically I made a sloppy job of it first time and got swarf from drilling the grease nipple holes. Now it's been cleaned out again a bit more thoroughly. I repainted it with s better paint product along with the rear axle, shocker mount plates, tank saddle and steering tie rods. Looks better, I wish I'd done the chassis in it too actually. I need three arm bearings, but five are absolutely fine. The inner bearings came off really easy by using a bread knife hammered into them to open the gap and then pull them off. It's a bit annoying doing everything twice but I'd sooner have it working better than when I took it to bits.
