I've noticed an off-topic bit in the "Spa 2010" thread, so thought I'd post on here.

So the BIG question for me is this:- Is it worth the risk to head over to France tomorrow? I'd would like to go, but I obviously don't fancy being stranded out there. What's the thoughts of people "in the know", forum members who actually live in France? Cheers guys.

There are fuel problems Jon, at least down here they are limiting sales to 40 euros per customer. There is a national strike here on Tuesday and more planned. But whats wrong with being stranded in France. The wine is still available as is the bread so life is good. Be adventurous.

I guess my worry is financial (I'm on a budget), time (I only have a week off work), boredom (if I can't tour round looking at "stuff", I'll get very quickly bored) and ferries(are they going to be targeted,as they usually are?-So properly stranding me "over there").

For the life of me I can't figure out the attraction of Scotland? Every time I've been it's pissed it down, the scenery counts for nothing when you can't see it for drizzle, and if you do get a sunny day the midges bite.

I like Scotland, Old-Nail. But I'm now swaying back and forth from Scotland to France, and I just can't make up my mind where to go :( I hate being in this undecided mind, I tend to waste time whilst dithering. I rarely tend to be in this state of mind, I usually decide and just go.

Anyone see if he got to Eilean Donan castle in the link above?! I had every intention of keeping it open in a window, but 4pm coincided with having to collect ma kids from school... :(
