Took Emilie the 2cv back 'home' to Exeter today, was my first visit there, and I like it :D A little idiosyncrasy of 'Milie is to show a dead fuel-gauge when the tank is over-filled(as in brimmed to the top of the the fuel-filler), and after about 30miles or so, it suddenly jumps into life and shows a full tank. Well today, I brimmed it as usual and pootled off down the M5 at around 60mph and got 42.7miles before the fuel-gauge jumped to attention...Well pleased with that :D

Post Re: My 2cv
Had the 2cv serviced and MOTed, passed ok :) The co2 emissions were showing 0.7%, the max for the 2cv is 1.5% so it was running too lean. The mixture has been altered, so with the use of Tesco's Momentum 99 super-unleaded, I'm hoping the car's days of pinking are at an end.

Watch this space

Post Re: My 2cv
I've got the next week off work, so I'm currently planning a weeks holiday away. I was originally thinking of going over La Manche to France, but seeing as they are striking again and blockading fuel depots, I've pretty much decided to head north, to Scotland. I'm going to give the 2cv a once over this afternoon and just make sure everything is as it should be with it. I'm looking to leave Worcester about 5am tomorrow morning and just have a fairly easy drive up the M6, should get to Skye by 4pm. France's loss is Scotland's gain.

It may well be warmer James, but I'd rather be a bit colder and have the ability to refill an empty fuel tank. If I was sure of having easy access to fuel in France over the next 7 days, then believe me, I'd be going south.

Post Re: My 2cv
I've noticed an off-topic bit in the "Spa 2010" thread, so thought I'd post on here.

So the BIG question for me is this:- Is it worth the risk to head over to France tomorrow? I'd would like to go, but I obviously don't fancy being stranded out there. What's the thoughts of people "in the know", forum members who actually live in France? Cheers guys.
