 Re: Yet another red spesh...
Today i cut the rear legs for the roll cage at work, and tacked them in. My welder is ducking useless so I will be taking it to work tomorrow to use a proper one. I am really unsure whether a front cage is a good idea, I really can't see how I'll get in the car and although practicality isn't really my thing, I think I need to draw a line. I'm not gay or anything. Had my headlamp shells painted, they look much better than the old ones now. Because I can't take the car to work, or bring the workshop home, I had to roughly measure/guess the length and angles of the rear legs, I got it pretty close actually, but I also had to make sure I could get it out of the car to take to work and weld properly. This is the trial fit of the rear legs. Fishmouthing machine makes stuff like this a pleasure to do. The other option is to develop the pattern, cut it from paper, draw round it and then try and cut the shape with a grinder. Bollocks to that. The legs are in and I put a little weld round the joins to make sure they didn't break in transport. You'd think that as it fitted in the back of a saloon, it'd go in a van right? well, I did, apparently not, as the highly tensioned ratchet strap would indicate in this picture. It was an almighty game trying to get it out of the car, a bit like one of those chinese puzzles, but life size. It was even harder getting it in the van.

Looks nice! Is one of the things I want in the pick-up, a roll cage, just for show.. Maybe in a few years.
Why didn't you use the already existing points for the rear legs?
