It's also the exact opposite, surely, of what's actually required for soundproofing?
Isn't the whole point of acoustic cloth that it's effective transparent to sound, allowing it to pass through relatively unhindered, hence why it's used for trimming speaker boxes, parcel shelfs etc?

Sorry about that

Adrian I think you have a point :?

May have to get some proper soundproofing for the bulkhead afterall. At least the carpet was cheap and will make nice trim :)

All looking much better!

The interior too has had a transformation.

Sorted out the parcel shelf. The non soundproof accoustic carpet looks great. There's tonnes of it! Its lovely to cut, slightly flexible and I think it looks great. Well worth the money.

Rear body work's looking good too :)

And used some grommits to fill all those random holes at the back!

She's really starting to come together :)

Took her for a drive this afternoon and sped up to 50kph! 4th gear seems fine! Except I got lost in 4th until I found my way back to third and finally back to neutral. Amazingly she seems to pull away ok in 4th!

Thanks to Russ for those two pics.

I learnt a lot this weekend.

The secret to good paint work is thin thin THIN!!
Despite being useless in an accident, 2cv bumpers are heftily attached to the chassis.
The bumper fitting kit that ecas sells is great.
Don't sit in the back of a van on a hot day with the doors closed using acetone and synthetic paint. It gives you quite a headache!

I just can't wait to get her on the road now, she drives so beautifully. I'm really enjoying this process of getting her there though it's really rewarding. Fitting the carpet inside was particularly nice as it made the cabin really homely and nice

One thing I learnt too is thin layers of paint not one big thick one :D

You're working fast. It's looking lovely. I like the front wings, you keeping that colour?
