 Re: Spanners Ami 8 Break-UDG57R Thanks spanners. I may have a problem though. Working on the scraped nsf wing I removed it to spray it. While I've got the wing off methinks I'll check tappets. Whipped out spark plug so I could find correct crank position and it came out very tight. Traces of something like plastic metal in the threads. You're probably way ahead of me now. Stripped thread. So checking out ebay tonight I've found helicoil sets in Worcester and Bedworth. If I can get one tomorrow I should be at the rally. If not I shall be quietly sulking  Still I've got my bike

Re: Spanners Ami 8 Break-UDG57R Whilst the old racer has been gaining inches in height, the Ami has been losing a few! It's never felt right, cornering has always been a little bit scary (the ancient and rock hard tyres probably don't help maters) in particular. Anyway, having seen a perfect and unmolested Ami 8 estate last weekend, it really only confirmed to me that mine was too high.... So, out came the tape measure and, sure enough-4cm too high!  Just need to actually drive it now and see if it's made even the blindest bit of difference.
