I'm not sure the toilet will last on your rack, I currently have space for it, and think we could squeeze it on for the outwards journey, but we'd have to ditch it out there because it'd never go in on the way home, four up.

Neil, how much clobber you going to bring?

Pan and Cistern are over 30KG combined (as an educated guess given the pain in my back from moving them around on a daily basis ) might not be the best thing to strap on at the back!

A cheapo wc wouldnt brake the bank( less than £40 here) if you bought one out there (Charge a Euro a Glass...or for a photo drinking from it to get round licensing laws to cover costs... and party with the proceeds once youve deducted the cost of the wc ;) ) just remember to take the spiggot cap over with you.

You could always have a right laugh at all the drinkers' expense by actually using it as a toilet and not telling anyone!

Check with Chris, but you may not be four-up on the way home. Bring the toilet.

Post Re: 1967 Ami6 Break
Just doing some final odds and ends to the Ami before we go (this time next week. AAAAAGH!!!), I broke a manifold stud when we put the pistons in, fitted it all back together and it didn't blow for about 2 days, but now it's blown the gasket to bits and is chuffing away merrily. I've just whipped the manifold off and realised I don't have another gasket. Thankfully, ECAS are going to slap a couple in the post this afternoon and with any luck, while postman Pat and his black and white cat are whizzing it down to me I'll have managed to get this broken stud out of the head.

This week hasn't gone too well so far, I left my camera on the roof of the Ami and drove off, which means a new camera out of the meagre holiday budget. Today I did a site job and while switching the gen set off I leant on the exhaust cover, forever etching into my skin the head of a phillips screw, then I dropped a panel on the floor which had a bolt sticking out of it that caught in my wrist and bastard hurts, and when I was tidying up the job afterwards I ran a grinder over my thumb.

Also, the wind blew the garage door into the path of my head so I now feel drunk and dizzy even though I've not touched a drop (yet).

I'm not known for my bouts of irrepresible optimism, but I'm not convinced the broken stud is going to pop easily out the head leaving a perfect tap-fresh thread...

Russell,
b#gg~r, here's hoping that you're getting any bad luck out of the way before setting off for the Czech republic...

In case that stud doesn't come out cleanly, have you got an M8 x 1.25 tap to hand? If not, might be an idea to nip down to the hardware place now so that you're prepared for a fallback option. ;)

Ken

Funny you should say that Ken, I grabbed the tap set and an m8 bolt before I left work, for that very eventuality. ;)

I bought an M7 tap on ebay (again) yesterday but postman pat's done a runner with that. Maybe he's also into 2cvs?

It now has an M8 bolt instead of an m7 stud, and hopefully it'll be ok.
