Re: Magical Transformation of a white Swan into an ugly Duck
The day everybody wants to paint 2cvs in boring standard colours and leave them like that is the day to buy a car with a more interesting social scene, maybe these guys? http://www.vvoc.com/

However - I think that Viking is quite right: Colourful cars only for colourful People!

Re: Magical Transformation of a white Swan into an ugly Duck
I've always harboured a desire to paint my 2CV like one of these... Attachment:

to the extent that I've collected a large number of reference photos. However, I'm so lazy and feckless that when it comes to it I realise that I really can't be bothered, and collecting the photos is good enough for me.

Re: Magical Transformation of a white Swan into an ugly Duck
Every 2cv is or should be special - that was like this since the hippie seventies, and this creative custom shouldn't die! Since I had 2cv's I always painted on the complimentary second colour and some nice decorations. My last car I had for 15 years - a EJ Holden station wagon 1962 I painted pink, burgundy and white - and it turned a lot of heads and afforded me with a lot of friendly waves and broad smiles! This new young lady I just befriended sports stark contrasts, complimented with blotches of strong golden yellow and a fiery red interior - her name is Panda!

Well! I'm in control of my colours these days! I'm not going to let them wander around of their own accord!

Re: Magical Transformation of a white Swan into an ugly Duck
In Australia those cars are very rare - I guess for about thirty for this vast area! Most people here never saw one (or maybe in a movie?) and they don't know if it is a small car or a bog toy! But they all show a lot of sympathy and interest, keep their thumbs up, wave and smile! It was like that with my hand-painted pink?burgundy '62 EJ Holden for the last 15 years - and it is even more friendly now! Panda makes people happy - and that's what counts, karmic, I mean?

Ame I always thought the Swiss were quite reserved. And there you are decorating your car in your colour of choice AND driving around in it stark boll*ck naked. Looks like you are having fun there, great stuff
