Bought my first 2cv at 15, and promptly took it all apart. Nobody in my family had ever owned a 2cv - or even any French car - before...

Right in the middle of your GCSEs! :o
(When did O levels become GCSEs?)

Actually, I don't think taking apart a 2cv has made much difference to time spent on school work, it's just a different distribution of time. Other people blow each other up on X boxes in their free time - I work on 2cvs instead! ;)

depends how much time you spend on school work!

when i was doing gcse's and before i was always tinkering with outboards, pulling them to pieces, putting them back together, using them till they broke, fixing them, and so on, whilst like you say, everyone is killing each other on cod or similar things..

and at least youll have something to show for your spare time as apposed to a score on an x box!

I did mine in '86. They started to change to GCSEs in '87.

I got the 2cv the same year I did my O-levels, 'cos I took 'em a year early. A-levels and off to Uni at 17... which meant my 18th b'day living in Halls...
