yes... but the engine swap should take place tomorrow night all being well. depends if i can borrow some muscles and if my arm wants to pick it up. today it doesnt... ouch! Xantia was rather full after visiting Matts. Full new leather interior including door cards etc, ami super gear box and GSA engine, tool box etc... waited for it to raise before driving off this time though!

I only worked on it cos you were doing something productive Russ!

did you do anything today Russ? I felt the need for 3 hours work. did the clutch and flywheel change solo in about 2 hours then buggered about for abit with exhauts and stuff before retiring in need of straightening up!

When Will towed jeremey to mine he said about a noise he could hear through the car... initially wheel bearing type noise which i dismissed for loose wheel nuts after finding them looser than i had hoped. well i found what it was... swollen rusty wheels being machined smooth by the bottom of the pin housing... arse biscuits!

hope the rears are nice and smooth as i dont fancy paying for new slots yet...

Good work TIMMY!

Nah, I did nothing mate, got to weld a 2cv tommorow and then hopefully my clutch and gaskets etc will be here, so I'll crack on thurs.

Can you just batter the wheels flat and get away with it?

did a spot of work after uni...

and.... it runs! (although i cocked up the video of it starting from fresh... )

There are a few exhaust leaks and it needs to burn off the engine cleaner, spilt oil etc i sprayed everywhere.

Have come across a few problems with the 1299cc in getting it to fit which i am currently problem solving!

Image

oil filler/breather pipe wont fit in the wings (might cut and weld pipe at another angle)

Image

propper filter with breather bit inside means i cant fit any headlights.

Image

Might fit if i remove the hot / cool air splitting duct... hmmm

one step closer, half back!
