If i put this install in lets say a Xsara Coupe and make it good soundproof, i think the meter will go up to 148 DB instead of 140 in the 2cv.

And that 8 DB difference in pressure is so much, so very much, it equals about double in sound.

This maniac seems to have grasped the relationship between containment and sound pressure...

Or is it mostly reverberation? ;)

that meter is a noise meter.
As you might know, its easy to make noise and reach a very loud level on higher freq's. Its easy to get incredible noise out of a tweeter on just a radio. Put a bigger speaker on that radio, and it will play way less in volume, not to mention the control of the speaker. Meaning, the way you can play music with it. A bigger speaker needs more power, because it way more heavy to move, and you also need the power to control it. All that, with making the box it is housed in, comes almost to an exact science. That is part of the fun.

It does cost a little, hahaahha, but hey, it's a hobby.

here is a link to a video i shot, that gives a bit of an impression what this is all about.
