 88 Red 2CV6 Spesh
Here is my 1988 red 2CV6 Special. I am new to owning a 2CV and bought this about 4 months ago having always fancied one. I have bought it to run most days as I want to semi retire my 1950 series one Land Rover that I have run on and off as my everyday car for the last 17 years. Due to a change in circumstance, I now have a new job and my eldest daughter has started school I need a cheap to run car to get me to work and drop my daughter off on the way. I have put the 2CV on my multi-classic car policy so is no more money to insure and it does better MPG than the Landy. I managed to get away in the Land Rover last summer and did 2500 miles around europe, 7 countries in 8 days and captured it on film if you are ever bored. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9903F1B8B9224879 The 2CV needed a bit of work, none that I could do myself, as it needed 2 new inner wheel arches on the rear as the old ones were on the way out and taking the body shell with it, so I bought some parts from 2CV city and a bloke I know welded them in. The car is currently in my garage and I have been undersealing the hell out of it and doing a few other small jobs mainly small rusty bits here and there and painting hammerite all over the inside! The car was originally registered in Halifax where we live so has now come home from where I bought it in Sheffield. I am wanting to get it back on the road as soon as poss and I will get some more pics then.
