Soggy,

it helped that the front engine mounts had bailed out.

Using a Hi Lift jack I managed to get the front to roll.

Used the landy to nudge the flamer towards the tent after getting a fresh wheel on the van and some air in the others.

I could't steer it as was so low that the tyres fouled the A panels. Managed to pull it over to line up, much easier with the engine and box out.

You can see how the front has given up after all those years outside under a raggedy tarp.

all in all a good day, just got to see if I can extend the Charleston chassis to fit under the flamer.

Bad enough, here we are looking inside the chassis from underneath.

Got the front off, didn't take much, it was ready to bail out.
If it was the last one left I still would'nt save this chassis.
The only thing holding the front of the bodyshell up are the artisan floor repairs, pop riveted in and they are looking iffy. Will have to make up a brace or two so I can remove the chassis, just like that AZU I did. ;)
Nice day today.

I have seen rusty chassis, but this is beyond rusty.

Cheers, Jasu,

I guess I shall have to try and source one then, Damn!

Sorry Rob for not getting back to you with a photo. It's pretty much the same as Jasu's above, though easier with a plastic grille. I think its too late to sort out a photo now!

Good luck.

Yes, a lot of easier with plastic, and on my photos, it is the hardest version. Only on early Dyane, the smaller hole grille, still easy to open like that...

A friend in Belgium did put his acadyane vertically on the back panel. You can work standing up...
