I'm thinking next time we should try pulling away in 2nd gear. Poor nephew, he did really well not stalling it but as soon as forward motion was actually happening, it went all jerky and stalled! He did well to be honest, my first time was horrific and the guy got out of the car and wouldn't teach me again. Lol..

I have always loved people's body language in the passenger seat. I tend to go full speed everywhere and fear no corner. It's hilarious what people do.

I do understand, but it's still funny.

This car came to me with a sticker on the dash saying 'passengers are requested to refrain from screaming'. Pahahaha.

I had a 1967 2cv, the previous owner was a very gentle old man. It had a sticker with a skull on the bonnet with the text jump or die... ;-)

Changed the oil to slightly thicker for the hot weather. 20x50 now. Greased the king pins and gave us an a good clean before a long trip. Funny how cars feel so much nicer after a clean isn't it.

Had some new wheel bearings fitted and it does feel rather nice. Also been pottering a bit fixing the paint around the front window apertures. That same rust area that's common. Done before but all looking rough again, all I can do is encapsulate, paint it with POR15 and then blow it over with Rouge Vallelunga. It looks way better and a bit more water repellent for the coming winter!

It's still doing its long trips with aplomb for the most part and really cheaply!

Changed my capacitor. I'm away camping in a hilly area and have been noticing a missing HP or two lately I thought, with some flat spots affecting hilly pulls. Juddering on gentle throttle.
The occasional weird starting too, out of character. Still starting straightaway, but oddly.
I made it so it's easy to change and put a load of connectors on some capacitors so I could easily change one at the side of the road, since they're such random quality these days. Came in handy, took about one minute to change!

Definitely better on hills now.
