I found someone in my town has a 2cv! Its been sat outdoors for years and the motor is seized, but its still gorgeous. I really hope he gets it up and running. He's a VW guy normally and does his own stuff.

I've never seen an old 2cv up close, the oldest was my last one which was about 1980 I think. So much is different isn't it.

Nice, it's rather old, it still has the 12HP or 13,5HP engine. Car could be 1961 or 1962, the AZAM front bumper is maybe not original (1963)

Wow! What a fabulous "barn find". Last registered in Corrèze (19). Can't be many of these left to find on Brexit Island! Have fun getting it running.

I do love it. Its my new 2cv friends car. He plans to get it running and keep the motor but put a big bore kit on it to help it out a little. And keep much of the patina. It has a lot of character even in this condition.

You can put a 18hp barrel, head and piston set on it with the fitting manifold. Than you can it use it in normal traffic even motorway. It will do 90 to 100 km/H. If you don't have a nose wind.. But i drive the 12 hp in daily traffic it works only uphill it's a bit slow sometimes. ;-) But it's a lot of fun to drive it.

With just 19bhp on tap, I finds my 1932 Morris Minor very slow, especially on hills. Saying that, I wouldn't want to go any quicker than the 40-45mph it and I are comfortable with. It doesn't help hill-climbing that I only have three gears in my 'box.

I thinks it's from between March & December 1964, with an earlier (3-stud = pre Feb '63) engine fitted.

It's got the totally flat rear-light/number-plate panel and rear lenses from after March '64. (Prior to that, the panel had 3 rectangles and the lenses didn't incorporate number-plate lights).
It's got suicide doors, so before Dec '64.

Is it an AZAM or has it just had AZAM parts added?:
It's got the AZAM steering wheel, bumpers & r/h sun-visor.
It's difficult to see on my small phone screen but has it got the AZAM aluminium trim in the rear door window rubber? Has it also got the stainless surround on the flip-up window, (which only the AZAM had before 1970)?
However, didn't AZAMs have a sliding bench seat and different door handles?
