 Well who would have thought.........
Hi Folks, I left the 2CV fold back in 2013 and have been polishing the now complete 356 Speedster rep I was building when I left and sold my wee red Special...... But here I am again, couldn't keep away....had enough fun with the Speedster! I'm feeling the need for a van this time. Been looking at a VilleVan But don't want any BIVA issues so maybe original tin is the correct route. Anyone have any thoughts or leads I can chase? Cheers ! Gerry

If you do decide on a Ville Van after all, there's one for sale in Brighton. (It's not mine). I think he wants just under £4000 for it. It's on the cars for sale page on the retrospecparts website.

Re: Well who would have thought.........
I know of a genuine one in Studley, Warwickshire, that has apparently undergone a thorough restoration. I'll have to double check the price but believe it's around the 7k mark.
EDIT Just got some more info.
Mid 60's AZU in green (possibly Vert Embrun), original engine/box with spare of each, a very lovely restoration. Does suffer from an oil leak though. Chap is probably wanting something in excess of £7k.

Mid 60s green might also be Vert Agave.

Re: Well who would have thought.........
Buy a villevan and forever regret not buying a the real thing. Villevans rust just the same as any other 2cv (they still have floors, sills, bonnet hinges). They're not built on van running gear so are limited to standard 2cv payload, if not less when you account for the weight of the GRP body - you can't therefore use them as a van. And if you have a short one (ie a 250 lookalike) it should be on a Q plate.
Just have the real thing.

I shall try and catch up with John tomorrow and get some contact details and more info generally. I'll try and get some photos too.
