Post dang it
Any thoughts on a odd problem , my 75 2cv with Dyane spec. engine
has suddenly sprung a major oil leak from the lower of the 2 front crankcase
bolts, (the bolts that clamp the front crankshaft bearing) ,both are tight 32/ft
did change the oil pressure switch in the belief it was leaking , but no it was from the bolt a inch or so above,. otherwise engine is running fine but now loosing via the leak 1/2ltr of oil every 40 miles , personally never seen this before on a A series engine ,

I had a similar hard to trace oil leak, and first thought was to change the oil pressure sensor.

Turned out to be the oil cooler pipe had perforated (cause is electro wotsit of differing metals) behind the olive.

Oil was being blown back as the engine was running making it hard to find the source.

Hi Roger , haven’t had the chance to investigate further indeed problems come in 3’s
My runabout Vaux. failed it’s MOT on a brake pipe , try getting one of those , strange how I can get parts for my 43 year old 2cv almost next day , but takes 8 days for the Vaux.
The leak definitely coming from the 10mm crankcase bolt just above the oil pressure switch , but why is still a mystery to me , hope to find out Saturday , will take a picture ,
Oh, the 3rd problem , my 20 year old grandson is now sleeping rough somewhere in London ( had a row with his Mum ) :(

Oh!
Not that I've experienced it, but I understand the Salvation Army can be very good at finding homeless people.
