Re: replacement wheels
Finish looks OK (for my purpose!) black on back, gris rose on front, faint orange peel. Not Michelin, or at least not stamped round the hub cap mount hole. Will of course get lathered in waxoyl or similar before I mount tyre...

Re: replacement wheels
I got a set of the Michelin ones for Xmas, yay. Got to get them painted before I get the tyres changed though, I'll probably use POR15 on the seams on the rear side before giving them to my painting mate.

Re: replacement wheels
AFTER you've had them pained, melt some waxoil until its like water, then hairdryer the seams on the backs of the wheels to warm them up and pour the waxoyl in - you need to stop water getting into those seams.

Re: replacement wheels
Yeah previously I've squished grease in, but it dries out doesn't it. I would squish in more from time to time but the wheels still rusted - only on the front side a bit though thinking about it, and a bit on the rims. I'm a big fan of POR15 lately but after painting I'll use some Dynax wax I've got that I'm loving.
Heating the wheels is a great idea, I'll do that, ta.
