My comp's a fortnight old, and has the latest McAfee anti-virus which is (predictably) a trial version....but it's still in the trial period, so should be bang up to date...

Do yourself a big favour. Uninstall it. Don't even think of paying for it.
McAfee's sole saving grace is that it's better than Norton.

Very good free AV products include AVG and Avira. There are others.

I never pay for 'em. As soon as the end of the trial period is reached, it'll be unceremoniously booted out the back of the tower unit! Cheers for the heads-up on AVG, I think thats what I had in my old one, it was excellent.

your right any virus software you pay for is usually Crap, free ones are the best id advise Comodo and WinPatrol, and if your using IE browser your just asking for viruses to attack as thats the worst possible browser you could use  :ugeek:

:? To Toomany 2cvs- So what you're trying to say then, is that in reality this site is fine, but Mcafee's software has decided that it's a threat and posted it to the World Wide Web as such, so other anti-virus software believe it and ring alarm bells? Am I correct in that translation? ;)

No - just further evidence that McAfee is really not a very good product...

I use Kaspersky on my PC , which I've found very good.

In the past Ive had Norton - slowed my pc right down.

Avg - free
Avg 8

Both Avg didnt catch a major virus that caused me to rebuild my pc....frustrated I then bought a Mac!
