haven't you got an escape clause anyway, since the van's engine, gearbox and chassis don't meet the historic vehicle requirements? ;)

i've been told from a reliable source that it could be dvla's fault, using the first date of registration rather than year of manufacture. guess you'll be on the phone to them asap.
