Tom I do think some of the things that have been said are a little on the harsh side but you have to understand it is very frustrating for those people offering advice and asking for info in order to help you out. You never seem to answer a straight question!

I can see you are frustrated too, you want a 2cv to do up, which is cool. But you give the impression you expect it to arrive on a plate. Cars are extremely expensive toys. Take a second and think about how the "luckly" people on here have ended up with "good cars". Mainly its through hard work.

You will see from this very forum there are loads of people who are willing to help out, but you do have to meet them half way!

You need to come up with a saving plan because any car, no matter how good or bad is going to need money spending on it.

Result! Just get chatting with your neighbour about the time scale! It'll probably work out better if he doesn't make you rush it!

Try to got local 2cv fans about 10 miles away offered me adventure bumpers and safari cut back wings. God there nice people.

Glad you have got your parents to help you out,

But in my honest opinion if your neighbour wants to help you out restoring a 2cv and you dont want to spend much.... Then i wouldnt bother for now. The hassle your going too buying and scrapping cars every two weeks is stupid. Surely a lesson when buying a car on ebay is to go and look at it? Plus what do your neighour reckon a restoration project would be? A quick shoe shine around the edges and job done?

By the time youve finished you could afford to have got ''betsy'' restored by a professional.

Adventure bumpers and cut away wings wont fix the welding....
