Post hope its ok to ask the what's it worth question
Been asked to sell a 2cv6 on behalf of someone who's husband has passed away
Its a 1975 2cv6
Saw it today briefly, its in lovely condition inside and out
Original engine 82k
Been repainted quite a while ago ,may have had a chassis swap
Brown seats and green roof
Nice wheels and Michelin's fitted
Lifted the rubber matting up and the floor look nice under there
No rust or damage ,although doesn't look like it was freshly painted
Didn't get time today to get photos and they are getting the paperwork together
Its up and running and taxed and has "had lots of money and love lavished on it "as it was her husbands pride and joy

Comes with lot of spares inc engine and gearbox, although they said tr car was running its original engine

I've had a look and the prices seem to vary wildly
I did say I would find out a rough idea for her
Thanks
Matt

Sounds great 8-) You say the roofs green but what colours the rest of it? Hard to value without seeing it but I'm sure there will be quite a bit of interest.

And where is it?

Sorry missed that bit out doh
Its green
The seats and door cards are darkish brown vinyl, possibly both roof and seats are original
Its in Surrey ,I'm being vague until I see the paperwork and history and hear it running, check for electronic ignition etc
Cheers
Matt

Its a P reg and it won the registers best car award in 2000
I will be getting photos possibly next week, and the paperwork/history is being sorted out at the moment so I cant tell you much more until I find out whats been done to it and what chassis its running etc
Ive been told 2 different things, the early cars are more sought after, and they are less popular than the later disc braked cars ! :)

How long is a piece of string? Depends where you're selling and who wants it. In my opinion as you can still buy a half decent car on a galv chassis with mot etc for £1500 if you avoid the Internet it's only worth around that, but if you get the right mug on the right day you could ask £5k+ and get it. By the sounds of it, you are probably looking at around £2500 to £3250 if you're lucky, selling on 2cvtv or eBay.

I think "whatever somebody is willing to pay"....

To me, the car you describe is more valuable than a "better than when it left the factory" rebuild, very little of which would have left the factory.

No doubt a true 2cv lover would be very interested in your car, but the "I-really-wish-I-could-afford-an-MGB" crowd on their retirement fund pursuing eBay would probably not be interested.

Well I have to try and get the best price I can for her of course
I can always offer it for a price and when there's no interest it is then overpriced!
I'm assuming the ones I've seen scattered online for £6000 to £11000!! Today are dealers and dreamers :)

I can't see my Ami 8 ever becoming too valuable ,which is one of the things I like about it
