My sister did it about 25 years ago.
Some of the car got clean.
And the (almost new) car was still intact.
But waste of money!

I used to put our "sheddy" old Dyane through the local car-wash .....it never did it any harm [except for the leaky 'sceen & wiper spindles] .....but I would'nt do it with my present 2CV ....[I suspect it would rip the headlamps off for starters].
It did'nt help matters any when a bunch of local scrotes thought that it would be funny to tie a few nuts & bolts into the brushes one night [the garage not being an "open 24 hours" one].
Our area now has a lot of "Hand Car Washes" .....[usually run by East European imigrants] ....and they do a good job for £4 or £5.

I did it once and was surprised to see that quite large area's of my 2cv were not touched at all by the machine, the mud was still there. The owner of the carwash was relieved my car didn't break his machine :-)

Used to use drive-through car washes but found a few went into error mode (stopped halfway through) because the narrowness of the car meant the wheel scrub brushes overextended and still couldn't find the car!
