I'd buy a stainless system if I were you-gives it a chance of not being too rotten then by the time you pass your test! ;)

assuming it doesn't fatigue which some stainless systems can do, you'll not need to buy another exhaust again.

They are expensive but in fairness they're also pretty much a one off too-should never need replacing again.

P.S. I was just being facetious ;)

It's the same system as I've got on Hellbilly, and I can confirm that outside the car it's apocalyptically loud at full whack but completely road-legal. Apparently when we left the CCC Northern Meet at Wetherby in it a few weeks ago it turned almost every head on the racecourse as we headed for the A1.

Since Spanners did the engine work it's even louder.....and having a small chip out of one of the flanges on the crossbox inlets means that it pops and bangs like a WRC-spec Impreza on the overrun too.

It's true, it sounds pretty damn awesome.

And it's quite a bit quieter than my car still. ;)

First time you arrived at my gaff in it, I thought you were pulling faces at me until I realised it was just that you were trying to get your earplugs out!

I did wonder when I saw you squirming in your seat. When you said you'd cross-threaded your butt-plug I thought you meant you'd buggered something in your gearbox.

You can't beat a good thread-jack.
