As soon as I bought it I realised it wasn't for me, it felt like somebody else's car whereas my red 6 break always felt like mine, it was my little adventure buying it and doing all the little bits to it. I couldn't wait to get rid of the grey one and was glad to see the back of it in all honesty.
Then, having seen those pictures of it, and currently not having an A series on the road, and I suppose with the passing of time I must admit I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it again... I still regret moving the red one on. I lost a lot of money on the Land Rover which replaced it and neither of the Dyanes I bought were quite for me. The Eunos I use now is fun, but nowhere near as cool as the Ami was, and it certainly doesn't have the WTF factor that the Ami had.

The Eunos novelty wore off pretty quick for me, once I'd done a few skids I lost interest.

Funnily enough, I wouldn't want the red one back now. I'd quite like another though, or preferably an 8 break.
You should start a thread on that van of yours, Mike. I believe it was on the cusp of a very big job. The outer toeboard was thru both sides as was the front of the cills, rear inner wings were very thin along the seam with the floor, screen surround/vent area & top of a posts had several rust bleeding pin holes, drivers door post was... flexible. Oh and the cant rail over the drivers door was pin holed all over. Plus things like door tops being non exsistant... All do-able but body off & lots of non over the counter panels to make, more work than I had time, space or frankly, inclination for. I feel guilty about it passing thru the OxAb but it seems to have survived AND I got the AZU out of there mostly intact Yes I will do a thread on the AZU, yes it is worse than the Ami, yes I made a loss on the Ami I try not to think about all this. I need to get it dated before I start to pull it apart, this now needs a physical inspection by the qualified club official rather than a set of photos, there may be another thread in 'How to Register an Unregistered Deuche'!

Re: Ami 6 - NDV 238F
'Deuche spéciales', top of the forum list in 'Board index'...? Knew I'd not made it up....... It's clearly, in certain quarters, current colloquial English for 'funny-little-bouncy-French-car' - legitimised, I propose, due to its use by adherents of said flbFc. In enlightened society we call this 'development of language', youngers is doin' it aal time.
Spits out worm.
