Gaining practicality, losing its road worthiness. Aren't they the things that VOSA or some such agency won't let on the road due to the chassis being sawn off? Dreadful, dreadful things.

I'm all for personal choice, to an extent, but why can't people treat the cars with the respect they deserve? Restore them or abuse them as they are or enjoy them for what they are, why try to disguise them? Pretend they're something they aren't? 2cvs aren't open top 1930's Hollywood style coupe things are they? They're a fabulous vehicle and I think there's enough evidence that a 2cv can be the most vivid extension of ones imagination without hacking it to pieces and trying to pretend its something it simply will never ever be.

Things 2cvs will never be:

1930s Cadillacs
WW1 era delivery vans
Morgans
More things like this.

VOSA don't like the fact the chassis is altered for the OK looking van Villevans altho id be tempted to saw off the back and state that a used Mehari chassis had been used

its the wardrobe shaped WW1 delivery van with peaked cab - dunno if it ever made it beyond the shocking display vehicle that turned up at some events. Perhaps it was brought by Doh-Vile! the makers of spectacularly ugly Canard and some Noddy car thing

As I understand it, VOSA are now owned by an American hedgefund, trying to make money out of US.

Away on holidays at the moment with Dyane :( spotted a Mk 2 Golf with 17 inch alloys but because he has drum brakes on the back he has bought a plastic disc in the shape of a vented brake disc to look cool. Could not take photo was there and he might have gone all Islam on me........
