Post subject:  cant decide...

As some of you may remember, i had a dyane for about three years. The reason i sold it if im honest was because of two things, the first is that i couldnt get it running (points stuck open as i later found out). But also because i had bought a new project. It started wth an Austin seven chassis, the body i found about two weeks later in the form of an avro lancaster fuel tank (no shit!).
Anyway, long story short i blew most of the money from the dyane on this, but if i sold it i could probably easily get it back. The reason i am posting this on here is because i have seen a 2cv which i cannot live without. Please help me
decide as i am torn between sticking at it and wasting more money or buying a car which i know will be a better first car.

Firstly we need pics of this thing you've got to help us decide. Secondly, if you can't live without this 2cv you've seen, then it becomes a case of 2cv or death, surely you can make that choice?

Let's ignore the 2cv at the moment, and look at the other end of it. The other project, intended to provide you with not only your first car, but your only car - your daily driver - is...

An Austin 7 chassis and a Lancaster fuel tank.

Is there anything more to it than that? Or is that a fair description of the project in it's entirety?

And the budget available for turning that into a functioning, road legal, reliable vehicle is...?
I'm thinking of subtle details which may be required. Things like an engine, transmission, suspension, wheels, tyres, interior, electrics... Fripperies, in the main, I know, but all things I've found important for a vehicle.

To be honest that is fairly much it.
An engine (which is roughly the same as a reliant, and reliants are frequently used) can be picked up for penuts, i have a gearbox, the wiring could be done by a monkey, the brakes are the same story with then being much the same as a morris minor, and apart from the fuel tank which has had the baffles etc. taken out and a hole cut in the top there is not much to it. In order to get it running, it only needs a small amount. I know that if i sold it as is, then i could get at least £800 for it, bearing in mind the chassis is very solid, and many other chassis on their own have gone for more than this in the same condition.
If i were to do it, id spend more time and money, but i bet there is somebody, somewhere with a nice warm garage and plenty of time on their hands.

Pics please. Sounds interesting. Don't rely on us telling you what to do though, I earn ten pound fuck all an hour, can barely afford to run the clapped out shitter that's languishing in the garage of my rented house and I have no career prospects whatsoever. You don't want people like me telling you how to live your life.
