I have so many catalogues and links to web sites but can anyone recommend a decent refurb kit for my AZU seats.

I am going to powder coat the frames and want a brown leather seating pad (same as the current style) to replace these rather tired stripy deck chairs. Would also need new hooks and rubbers and any modern upgrade to make them even more comfier. :)

Anyone knows anyone or has examples of their own that would be great.

Matt (http://www.matts-soft-tops.co.uk) did a brilliant job of replacement seat pads for my AK350 (light grey: unavailable anywhere else) and also for my friend's AZU Belgian Post Office van.

I wouldn't recommend powder coating them as powder coating tends to chip easily - so where the clips on the rubbers hold the seat to the frame, the coating would probably start to look pretty rough.

I would agree with Sam. Just key them well and paint them with a good quality enamel, or you could get them stove-enamelled: I did that to the wheels (rather than powder-coating) on my AK350 eight years ago. Apart from the one I scraped along a pavement, they still look really good.

I can recommend these people:

Not sure if they do exactly what you want, Trip, but worth an email perhaps.

I fitted a set two winters ago and am very pleased with them and since these pics were taken (Feb 2012) they've settled down beautifully with no creasing now.

I would powdercoat them, correctly prepared and done well it lasts forever and doesn't chip at all, My yellow Ami is powdercoated 16 years ago, yes the whole body, alu roof, axles and mechanics and it looks like it has been done yesterday, no chips or wear..........
