 Which part of the exhaust??
I am after an exhaust part, but don't know the name of the component, it's the part that goes throught the heat exchanger as the flange that locates to the crossbox is holey.
Question is do you buy a complete exchanger or can you change the pipe that goes through it and what is this part of the exhaust called??
Thanks in advance

Re: Which part of the exhaust??
You want a complete heat exchanger but as Sean says the exhaust part rarely rots. It's not unusual for the heat exchanger part to drop off mind you. Did Sam find any in our combined piles of shite?

Re: Which part of the exhaust??
Ill post some tomorrow, it's holey around the flared flange joint at the rear where it joins the crossbox pipe. This car is becoming a money pit! Numerous Bodges over the years with paste etc,

Re: Which part of the exhaust??
Have not heard from Sam russ, did not want to bother him as I think he's got enough on with work, 2cvgb mag etc, I thought I'd need the complete thing. I was gonna try and weld but a) it's to thin b) to close to the clamp and flared flangey bit. If you have one I would be happy to purr chase it??.

Re: Which part of the exhaust??
It's the pipe that comes out of the back of the heat exchanger so basically the heat exchanger

Re: Which part of the exhaust??
The offending back of the heat exchanger(took legs a stride of the bonnet, feet on top of wheels, in the garage, camera upside down) the scored barrel, the cokey piston and finally merlot the charleston but all in maroon as last owners wish

Re: Which part of the exhaust??
If I've got a heat exchanger you're welcome to it. I'll have a look tomorrow if I'm at work (I might be in London, weather dependent). I work in Amberley and have lunch around 1pm if you wanted to swing by and take it. I'd post my mobile number but I'm as pissed as a mattress and can't remember what it is.
