Hi Chris,
the vendor is clearly carrying on the tradition established earlier in the life of this heap; namely, sourcing replacement parts from anywhere other than Citroen.

So, the blue plastic water pipe serves as a support for the loom and the grey rubber pipe, originally a washing machine outlet pipe, now acts as a breather outlet... ;)

( Edit. How appropriate, page 666 of dodgy stuff on auction sites? )

My guess would be cable runs. I know ours failed on loose cables at one point.

Pete,
I'd be interested to know which were the cable runs in question.
If they were as Citroen originally fitted them on your car, which I'm fairly sure they were, the tester was probably being over-zealous in demanding extra supports.

The original citroen insulation had worn slightly so he put it down. Might be the same thing that's led to the above car being altered... just an idea.

Oh yeah, mum has put this up on autotrader. She's got a modern car now (lupo) and the 2cv is just sitting in the garage.

If it doesn't sell then it'll continue to sit there until my good lady and I buy a place at which point it shall be shifted to mine so that over a period of time ignore it for a little bit longer until all that's left is a galvanised chassis and a pile of brown crumbly stuff on the floor.
