I'm pretty sure that every single car on the grid has got at least one thing on it that doesn't quite meet the rules. BCOTs car was missing the bolts from the steering arm and only had a mere gob of weld holding them on, but that passed.

wouldnt that have been picked up on in scrutineering?

I doubt it - I'm pretty sure the only thing that the scrutineer checked on our car was that it had 4 wheels and an engine...

They just leave it to whoever can't win to get the hump and protest whatever they can think of on the winners car.

for the last 3 years our borrowed car had passed scrutineering despite having virtually no seat fixing, poor harness mounting, no plumbed in fire extinguisher and no handbrake plus no anti spill valve on the tank breather.

the car was dangerous for its driver and to others at the race - passed every time. OK bending the rules is part of the fun of racing but the safety of drivers should be paramount.
we pointed this out to the chief scrutineer so along with the weight issues hopefully they will be tighter on the safety aspect too.

Somebody is buying crap from that seller. He has 100% positive feedback. Just shows there are mugs everywhere. :)

Looks like the dipstick tube is missing too. But regardless of that, why would anyone pay £80 for an incomplete engine of unknown provenance and condition?
