Like the SM with the C5 pump in you other video, good to blend the old and new.

And, now I'm happy I tested how the C5 pump behave and can be installed. Had a piston failure on Sm, so there is no change to use hydraulics without running engine, but the C5 pump solves the issue...

No way to have the Sm to garage without suspension, and also next to impossible to operate steering without hydraulics...

Well, it passed the MOT, piston failed on the way back home. Only the last four miles with road assistant truck... And yes, this is motorsport, anything can happen with 50 year old parts, it ran perfectly plenty over 100 MPH just before, didn't like slowing down, or my plans to sell her..?

Looks like a very loverly beast, shame about the piston.

^Took it out, had only original pump when driving, coulpe of days ago installed it back...

Can't use only C5 pump, steering uses a lot of fluid flow. Taouch of the steering wheel opens the pressure regulator for asking more fluid -please. Made some other issues also back to original, due to plan to sell the car. Now that plan is canceled, need to think that again when the engine is working again. Maybe that piston failure was only a way to tell not to sell her..?

If I decide not to sell, there will be both hydraulic pumps. Maybe electric pump to operate suspension and mechanical for steering/brakes, or with some valves to have them both..?

^Yes, have had her 11 years. Bought with failed engine, driven at France last time before me in 1983. Very nice car, even too easy to handle in modern traffic, have compared to many quite new cars and nothing have beaten it. A real GT car, very comfortable to drive long trip, and too easy to drive too fast...

And simple, couple of hours today at garage, only exhaust to remove and engine is ready to lift-off. Then steering and C5 hydraulic pump back, and move her to "small garage", then there is enogh room to see what is inside the engine, is the engine repairable or not...

Those came out from exhaust. Piston and ring parts. Quite big pieces, wondering how much more is on silencer...
