Engine not unlike the BSA winged wheel,I would imagine that the the gyroscopic effect of that rotating mass in the front wheel would give some very interesting handling! I would think it would keep flipping upright as you tried to heel it over into bends. Now who's for sticking one in the back and having two wheel drive? If you painted it black and white chequered you could end up with a bike like George Formby's bike in 'No Limit'

Alright, they're not subtle. But they're very sexy in a sort of brazen hussy way.

Only one Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet (to give it its full name) was ever made. It's owned by Peter Mullin, and held at the Mullen Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California, just west of Los Angeles.

The museum is stuffed full of shaggable old cars, with a whole section devoted to French beauties from the first half of the 20th century, including this Image

The Hispano-Suiza's mechanics were designed (or maybe just commissioned) by this fella

Andre Dubonnet, a playboy inventor, racecar driver, Olympic athlete, ace WWI pilot, and tipple manufacturer. The big ponce.

The coachwork was designed and built by Jacques Saoutchik, a Paris-based designer and builder of many highly shaggable old luxury voitures.

There's a whole load of pics of the Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet on American TV presenter Jay Leno's website here.

There is no record of what Dubonnet thought of 2CVs, but I can guess that it wouldn't have been favourable.

These things are about the size of the Titanic, yet not much bigger than a 2cv inside!
