Re: Shaggable old cars (and bikes) RWD is tremendous. Try opposite locking a 2cv round a wet roundabout ... you can do it dead easy in an elderly Volvo estate.

I had a BSA Subeam back in 1966 only because my mother wouldn't let me have a bike, It was quicker and sounded better than the Vespa's and Lambetta's of the day,but so bloody unreliable,who in there right mind would put the silencer right behing the rear wheel,so it collected all the road muck and rain,so rots before your eyes? Then there was the worst designed clutch release ever, simply an unlubricted sytem that had the nasty habit of friction welding itself together,snapping the pushrod and enging the clutch all good fun 'not'. My engineering dad made up phosphurbronze parts to try to stop this,they lasted longer but still caused problems, I was'nt sorry to see it sold
