Re: Shaggable old cars
late answer, it was a bsa iron head 650cc- a10 1951 the reg number is still in use(llj838)
Related to this!
This is a very nice BSA A 65 the twin carbs suggest a Spitfire. This was the replacement for the the A10 and was unit construction with an alloy head. Having owned both, the A10's were lovely engines whereas the A65 were faster but I found they viberated more.

It's a factory-built Pobeda, the world's first SUV!
Generally, Pobeda (Russian for "Victory") cars were a standard saloon, built by the Soviet company GAZ. They looked like this:
However, there was demand for a car that could withstand bad Rusky roads and the harsh winters, so the innovative GAZ engineers created the majesty that is the Pobeda SUV.
Don't know how many were built.
More here and here. (Note: the second site is in Russian, although there is an option to translate at top-left of the page. This site shows all sorts of derivatives and alternatives that GAZ tested and created for the Pobeda).
Video here
Judging from the video, the car produced by GAZ is not the same as that shown in the pics (which looks more and more like a cool custom job, the more I look at it...)

and its engine. They did a program on TV in Japan where they took a working one into the studio - started it up and then 2 mechanics took it apart piece by piece to show the inside of the engine etc. The way it fired was exactly like a F1 car of today. Way advanced for its time.

Re: Shaggable old cars (and bikes)
Nice video but that is the RC181 which is a 4 cylinder racer- the 6 cylinder is the RC166. Honda raced in the Isle of Man with the 4 cylinder but the next year they turned up the 6 and they had made a clever cover that when the bike was standing around it only showed 4 exhausts until they went to inspection when all the other manufactures said WTF (or words like that)
