New battery a few days ago. Starting much better now when warm, but still sluggish when cold!

Started the 4x4 Dyane and warmed up the engine. Standed still some weeks, and fuel what was filled at end of summer, didn't behave like fuel at near zero degrees...

Couldn't resist to drive a bit, because there is about 10cm snow. With summer tires, there is a lot of fun with 4x4. Some people here is saying "there is raining some power", usually with older rear wheel driven car owners, and yes, the engine feels very powerful when there isn't any grip... Didn't manage to drive off the road, but was very close to that. Too close, indeed...

But the fun, practically only fun of snow for me, it is same on every winter at start...

Rebuilding the steering on my road car, last MOT had advisory re Steering!

The guide tube for the rack is badly worn, even new guide blocks had too much play.

A new guide tube came with brass guide blocks.
I assume that they will wear out rather than the steel tube and very easy to replace.

There is plate that slides on top of this, that holds this bronze blocks. Very often the top plate the openings for the bronze blocks are bend or cracked so the blocks get space and your steering gets wobbly.

@AZL,
In my case the blocks and steel guide tube where well worn, due to the many many off road trips over the past 10 years...

This morning some arsehole with an BMW ran into the back of our C3 just before the entrance road to our house. It was rather hard but it only seems to have some scratches on the bumper. The BMW had it's bumper shattered and the license plate half ripped of and bend.
