Shedouin passed MOT first time today

Fitted s replacement fan and pulley assembly , after it failed 5k from our French house! Having borrowed one off my mates non runner . I notice for the first time that that the starter dog had cuts in it, from a cold chisel being used to get fan of. Who ever you are may you burn in hell Luckily no other damage occurred.

So I installed some of those clips that allows the windows to "crack open" if you want to call it that. They are quite clever but when not in use would rattle and bang against the plastic panels when I'd hit bumps or go around corners driving me bonkers. So I installed some of these rectangular magnets with pre-drilled holes in them.



A longer screw is required. I also had create a square hole for one of those 1/2" nylon screw inserts in place of the original fastener using a Dremel tool.

I found using two magnets stacked works best. As of right now I'm not sure which direction the magnets rotated holds best (longways up or down) until I go for a test drive. By the way, low grade SS is magnetic which these seem to be made of.

Attacking the starter dog with a sharp (or blunt) instrument won't have been the reason for the fan pulley's demise.
That's entirely down to Citroen for choosing a cheaper and less durable method of manufacturing the later pulleys...
