I drove mine like a total idiot and then thought about unpacking the other one after the weekend. Decided it may aswell stay packed until Spain next year though.

Went to work in it, then came home again in it. Like I do every week day.

I used my 2CV todaY .....to take the front wheel from my C4 to the local tyre fitting emporium  ..... after clipping the kerb and destroying the C4's tyre yesterday..... more fool me for going in the C4 yesterday,if I'd have been driving mi 2CV I would've fitted the car through that gap instead of hitting the kerb. :x

...........this morning I've taken the horrible electronic points assistance device off and thrown it away, as it was causing the engine to cut out without warning in the most inconvenient of places, like the outside lane of the M42 at 75mph. I've replaced it with standard points and condenser, which (in my opinion) is all an A series needs.

The only thing tht might be worth fitting is a Boyer bransden unit to make the points last longer??

You Guys are using the wrong type of EI ......I fitted "Lumenition" to my 2CV in 1995,it never needed attention until 2008 [when "Uncle Ken" rebuilt my engine] ......and its never been touched since.

It was on there when I bought the car ... personally, I like doing the points and condenser every 10 000 miles or so. Not a fan of electronic ignition of any sort.
Drove mine to work and back today, like a loon through the twisty forest section between Huntley and Lea on the Gloucester to Ross road. At 3.30 am it's like a rally stage, there's no one about. 8-)

Many years ago a friends' sister-in-law had the pub at Lea so I know that road well. We always took advantage of the fab roads through the Forest whenever we visited - on two wheels as it happens.

For what its worth, today I visited my local town for groceries, roof fully back (first time for weeks) then off to a mates to collect my hedge trimmer, whereupon it rained heavily with little warning on the way there so I had to stop under a tree and roll roof closed. Still, it was nice while it lasted lol!

Gots loads of these round us - it's why I love taxing people about late at night! :)

And was to and from college via a mates house today with the roof down for latter of the journeys for the first time in a while.

It's one of the great things about these cars ... you can drive absolutely on the limit and you're still only going relatively slowly. :D

Drove it to an aerodrome to look at a Traction Avant yesterday, just came in it to work today. Do need to fix the passenger rail though, passenger complained of sliding about.
