you know how it is you drive around for years having used many sets of disc pads and many different makes and think your brakes are good but occasionaly you drive some one elses car and theirs seem much better ( I class good brakes as ones with plenty of bite for the least amount of pressure) well I recently bought some off flea bay in a citroen box and can honestly say they are the best I have experienced .. the pads have valeo 363 stamped on them and have more metallic looking particals in them compared to others ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0383508182

Worth mentioning too is the condition and type of tyre also influences braking to a large degree. My 2cv came to me with awful cheap Nanking tyres with a tread design from the 1950's (and grip to match!). The massive improvement in ride, handling and braking after changing them all for proper Michelin ZX 135's at huge expense was worth every penny.

Couldn't agree more. My car feels like its on rails going around corners. The 125's I had before used to under steer if I really went for it! Not yet had the 135's under steer on me!

They also look better than the 125 too IMO

And i'd love a set of mich zx 135's but can't justify spending that to myself at mo with my x's in good shape..however i bet you'd find they are also a 1950's tread design :mrgreen:

You're quite right of course Ben, possibly even earlier! Actually, I meant the Nanking tread was just horrendous, a ribbed pattern which wouldn't have looked out of place on a 50's crossply tyre - with ride quality to match. They had the word 'Radial' moulded into the side wall, but I reckon that only applied to the actual rubber under the word radial, not the whole tyre :lol:

145s XZX are where its at.

And real men have drum brakes. Disks are for boi racerz.
