Post 2CV Magazines
Hey, it's winter and I'm already tired of it. Would like to have a 2CV-magazine drop into my mailbox now and then, to spread some sunshine. But is there any good mags in English, who takes subscribers outside it's country?

Yes that would be nice but each 2cv country is too busy doing one magazine for their own country. I think one of the French magazines did an english version some years ago but stopped due to low sales.

Citropolis & Planet 2cv were both available in English back in the very late 90s/very early 00s, but as Viking points out; i don't think sales were particularly great. :(

They do occasionally pop up on eBay.co.uk

You can join 2CVGB as an overseas member and receive the monthly club mag, 2CVGB News.

Nothing wrong with being a member with 2CVGB but being a overseas bloke, most of the stuff in the magazine is within the UK. I think Eirik is looking for 2cv magazine covering the wide community around the globe and not one specific county. Ex what's happening in Australia or Finland maybe Greece. All countries are very territorial and doesn't care much about stuff outside it borders. I would love to read about the French doing Brasil at the moment but I'm sure it will be all in French and released in France only
This forum would cover plenty, I think, despite the forum becoming more and more a British affaire. I feel that none UK folks are dropping out big time. Yes I know that it is mighty difficult to keep people here but that's an other keddle of fish.

That was why we started this forum but it quickly went pear shaped as we have been, and continue to be very slow in attracting a wide non-brit audience. I think most folk are only interested in what goes on in their home country, and that's already catered for in most cases.

Shame

Sounds like the new 2cvGB magazine ;)

My aim is to really broaden peoples knowledge of world wide 2cv-ing. I'm producing an english mag so it should appeal to anyone who speaks english. There will be 'club specific' stuff, but I'm thinking broad and cars, cars, CARS. I'm also getting into the meta-2cving - things to do with 2cving that aren't actually 2cvs, like the double spread on Spa Francorchamps in this months mag.

Sam, really looking forward to it! :D

As Viking is saying, I was wanting a 2CV-magazine that was something like the Planete 2CV that I got at the world-meeting. Only in English so I can actually read it. And it would be great if it covered things happening in the 2CV world, not only in one country. Like Raids.
When I was a kid, I bought Swedish classic-car magazines. Simply because they were better than Norwegian mags, and more mags to choose from. The languages are similar, so that's not an issue, and the articles was about cars and technical stuff, very "country-independent". I actually was into VW's before I got my driving license. I have A LOT of the American magazine "VW-Trends" from the 90's.
And I would love something like that, just with 2CV's!!

Russell, as you say, most people are satisfied with the offers they have in they're own country, when it comes to stuff about they're 2CV. But I think there are people wanting "more", especially in country's where the 2CV-scene is limited. Like in my country. For those people I think language can be something that stoppes them joining foreign forums. It's maybe a combination of lack of interest, and being uncomfortable with English. The interest-thing is hard to do anything about, people are different. But if the latter keeps people from joining, it's a shame!
