There are quite a lot of theese models in Denmark.
2CVs and Dyanes
It began in 1973 when a architect got his 2CV galvanized.

It still runs:

But...

If you don't rust proof the chassis, it might rust anyway.

A little undone project (danish): http://www.citronik.dk/jforum/posts/lis ... page#57918
Frame collapse (danish): http://www.citronik.dk/jforum/posts/list/258.page#1335

I lika da looka a lota, but I don't like the weight gain, and the fact the frame gets "soft".

Ive always liked the idea
And if you have a galvanised chassis your set for life. Surely?

Why do so many do it in denmark?

I suspect over here it'd be hard enough to find a galvaniser to do it

The chassis is not "set for life"!

The reason for all the galvanised 2CV's, must be our humidity and salt.
If you didn't rust proof your 2CV in Denmark, it had to have a new chassis within six years!

That's also the reason why I did it, I park my car about 8 meters from the sea.
