 Falklands 2cv's / Dyanes?
Hi Forum posters, I'm looking at applying for a job that would see me posted to the Falkland Islands for a 2 year stint. I remembered years ago seeing an article in the 2cvgb mag about there being a few exported out there. I went through the back catalogue of the mags and found the article in a 2002 copy when at the time there were supposed to be 5 A series in use (3 2cv's - a red one and a silver one pictured, and 2 Dyanes - a Cote D'Azure and a blue one again pictured).
I also found a picture in a mag from 2008 of the silver 2cv and the two Dyanes looking pretty down at heel, and now out of use, but at least looking fairly Citroen shaped still. Has anyone got any more info about how they got there, where they might now be and what has become of them? If I get the job I'd planned to try and track them down with a view to getting hold of one to play with while out there, but I suspect that the climate may have turned them all into a pile of brown flakes by now...
Of course, if I get out there and find something worth resurrecting I'll keep you all posted!

Hmmm, things may not be as bad as you think... http://www.flickr.com/photos/12700574@N05/4989052351/ The search seemed to work better with Islas Malvinas rather than Falkland Islands... ken
